We distinguish two main cooperation models: fixed price and time & material.
There is no ideal solution for all projects. However, each of these approaches has its benefits.
Fixed price we use:
- When we have a well specified scope and project schedule.
- When we have a trusted contractor, or one that has excellent and reliable references from the market. Remember that you can and should always check them.
- When we do not have the competence to complete the project and they are not easily available on the market.
We use Time & Material:
- When we are not able to specify the shape of the project and its schedule in sufficient detail at the beginning of the project.
- When we have experience and competence to monitor and control the scope of work of programmers and consultants.
- When we want to get rid of the costs of project risks, which companies practically always include in their valuations, and when we want to have more control over the progress and quality of work.
I hope that the above entry has brought you a little closer to making the right decision.
